SS-KAMPFGRUPPE PEIPER 1943-1945
« SS-Kampfgruppe Peiper 1943-1945 » offers a precise and well-documented analysis of the operational career of Jochen Peiper and the Waffen-SS units under his command between 1943 and 1945. From the battles of Kharkov and the Kursk salient to operations in Italy, Ukraine, Normandy and the Ardennes, through to the final engagements in central Europe, the work reconstructs the principal campaigns in which these formations took part.
Drawing on a broad corpus of sources — contemporary testimonies, military reports, original documents and international archives — he examines the conduct of operations, tactical decisions and strategic context.
Enriched by a substantial body of iconographic material comprising maps, photographs and period documents, this work offers an informed perspective on the complexity of the war on the Eastern and Western Fronts, and on the military realities of the Third Reich.
