In 1910 Voisin was still on the same level as Blériot, REP, Saulnier, and even somewhat above.
Subsequently led astray by the Canard venture and overtaken by Blériot, Farman and Breguet, he bounced back with the Type L which, along with its derivatives, would be built in large quantities from the beginning to the end of the Great War.
But the many prototypes inspired by his imagination, which remained on the margins, met with no success, and Gabriel Voisin abandoned aviation as early as 1919 to devote himself principally to the automobile. Incidentally one may also mention prefabricated houses, inflatable hangars, motorised bicycles, armoured vehicles…, but his heart remained attached to aviation, for which, until his death, he continued to sketch various more or less utopian projects.
Across 176 pages, with more than 450 photographs and around one hundred 3-view drawings and diagrams.
