THE 3RD AMERICAN INFANTRY DIVISION "MARNE DIVISION"
This book is the only one in French recounting the history of the 3rd Infantry Division of the United States Army, from its creation to the present day. This major active-duty division is also nicknamed "Marne Division" owing to its exploits in 1918. Between the two wars, it survived on the order of battle despite the "crisis of '29".
After the United States entered the war in 1941, the 3rd Division was among the first to engage Axis forces, in North Africa, and covered itself in glory on every battlefield: Sicily then Italy, the Provence landings, the Vosges-Alsace campaign during the winter of 1944–1945, and through to the capitulation of Nazi Germany.
The history of this division is connected to the volumes already published by Sophia Histoire & Collections on the 36th and 45th American divisions.
