We will begin with the continuation of the chapter devoted to the horse artillery of the Guard. We will then turn to units too often neglected by military historians: the artillery train and the supply train. An army is nothing without logistical support, and that of the Emperor could never have conquered Europe without the train drivers whose courage and selflessness, in often difficult circumstances, enabled it to prevail. We will then examine the administration of the Guard, whose commissaires des guerres, inspecteurs aux revues and their staffs spent fifteen years clothing, equipping and supplying the glorious phalanx. Next, the challenges of the medical service will be addressed — which, thanks to the admirable Larrey and his famous flying ambulances, was able to bring more effective and swifter aid to the wounded on the battlefields. We will conclude with the general staff, an indispensable element in the conduct of operations, covering the adjudants-commandants, their deputies and their tireless aides-de-camp. Not forgetting, of course, the famous orderly officers, of boundless energy, who were the "eyes," "ears" and "voice" of the Emperor.
