DECIMA MAS - THE LEGENDARY UNIT OF PRINCE BORGHESE
This book tells the story of an Italian Navy unit that carried out extraordinary military operations during the Second World War. With limited resources, under the command of Prince Junio Valerio Borghese, a handful of highly trained men deployed fearsome weapons that kept the Allied high command on edge until the final days of the war. Those who would be nicknamed the "human torpedoes" attacked British naval bases, inflicting heavy losses on His Majesty's vessels.
Even after the Italian armistice of 8 September 1943, Commander Borghese continued the fight on land and at sea with his unit — by then elevated to division — for the honour of Italy.
This 496-page book is accompanied by approximately 130 photographs including pages of insignia, posters and previously unpublished documents.
