La Compagnie d'Elite - issue number 1

This publication revives the concept of a well-known and much sought-after series of earlier publications. The principle remains to make iconography and rare or previously unpublished documents available to enthusiasts.

Unlike the first compagnie d'élite, which by its very nature could only have a limited distribution given the resources of the time, these publications are aimed at all enthusiasts

In this first issue, we immerse ourselves in the full splendour of the uniforms of the kettledrummers and trumpeters of the Military Household of Emperor Napoleon III and his Garde Impériale. This is made possible by a previously unpublished series of 36 gouaches by Pierre Conrad.
