The author, Guillaume Bretegnier, a member of the Sabretache, comes from a family in which the passion for the study of uniforms and military history has been passed down from father to son for several generations.
The illustrator, Eugène Leliepvre, was a painter to the armies and a guide for an entire generation of enthusiasts.
It is thanks to the coming together of these two passionate individuals that this book exists today.
