Book illustrated by Eugène Leliepvre, to whom the author pays tribute through this narrative of the dragoons' epic story, featuring more than 30 previously unpublished watercolours and paintings by the Master.

The author, Guillaume Bretegnier, a member of the Sabretache, comes from a family in which the passion for the study of uniforms and military history has been passed down from father to son for several generations.

The illustrator, Eugène Leliepvre, was a painter to the armies and a guide for an entire generation of enthusiasts.

It is thanks to the coming together of these two passionate individuals that this book exists today.
