Marcel Bloch took considerable time before deciding to propose a fighter aircraft. His first attempt was a complete failure — the aircraft could not even take off. Yet the ideas he had instilled in that project would prompt the French government to take notice and, after numerous improvements, industry would make it one of the three principal defenders of French airspace.

Alongside this, Marcel Bloch continued to open new avenues, proposing new aircraft, with prototypes following one after another.

This third volume presents the zenith of Marcel Bloch's aircraft and his downfall, up to his imprisonment and deportation during the war. Yet with 1,887 Bloch aircraft built partially or fully between 1929 and 1946, including 53 prototypes or experimental aircraft, he remains one of the great aviation industrialists of the 1930s.

And he would bounce back once more, restarting with a small team of loyal collaborators to give birth to a global giant of post-war aviation: Dassault Aviation.

This third volume examines his first fighter aircraft, which flew through French skies throughout the war, as well as his final prototypes and projects before the great transition to a new venture.

This third volume totals 624 pages, more than 1,000 photographs, 28 color profiles, and 70 drawings and plans.
