Using a weapon is not a game! It may be used for recreational purposes, but its primary function must never be forgotten. It is for this reason that education is essential before one can even claim to own a weapon. This work is a compilation of articles written by the principal figures behind the creation of the ENIT (École Nationale d'Instruction du Tir).

We present here what we do for the benefit of the community of weapon owners — whatever their reason — and we highlight our professional conduct as much as our technical know-how. This is both an ethical and a technical book. Security professionals — both public and private — will find here micro-techniques and practical tips to help them improve or broaden their knowledge, particularly those who will be called upon to train their colleagues.

Citizens, for their part, will find here the means to improve their shooting practice and the teaching thereof.

Owning a weapon is a heavy responsibility, and it is high time that France had a shooting school genuinely committed to educating and training its members, in order to provide them with the essential knowledge for their safety and their freedom. That school is the ENIT!
