The operation involved penetrating, in April 1945, under American bombing, a large German city plunged into chaos, in order to eliminate Nazi officials who were sustaining the spirit of resistance there. It was an operation intended to precede the final assault by American troops.

We discover how the SOE and the DGER were preparing for the invasion of Germany — a true story revealed by the author, who gained access to previously unpublished archives.

The author Frank Lambert is a passionate military history enthusiast, particularly of the Second World War. Pursuing his research in the archives of the BCRA and the SOE, he gained access to documents enabling him to reveal a completely unknown aspect of French secret service operations. Franck Lambert has published with Éditions Histoire & Collections: Les Saboteurs de la France combattante, and La Formation des agents secrets par le SOE durant la Seconde Guerre mondiale.
