The author noting that it could not have been otherwise, so as not to risk putting "in danger" certain individuals and situations liable to recall, possibly, sensitive events.

A former serviceman from various land units, Alain Gerardin had an atypical career. An alpine trooper, then a commando instructor at the Centre National d'Entraînement Commando at Montlouis, head of an infantry section of the Marine Infantry in the Caribbean and in Africa, then head of the anti-terrorist service within the French Intelligence Services, he ended his military career within the Action Service of the DGSE, which he left some years ago to place his expertise at the disposal of the security of French and European companies.

Alain Gerardin passed away in February 2020.
