While numerous books on these French volunteers in the German army have been published, none offers an iconography that is both rich and varied.
The author Christophe Leguérandais, a specialist on the subject, sheds light through several hundred rare and unpublished photographs and documents — some never previously published in France. It is a true visual journey through this epic, begun with Operation Barbarossa on 22 June 1941 and ended in the ruins of the Berlin Bunker, that is offered to us here.
