A writer, a student, businessmen, a lawyer, a female politician — there are currently 57,000 women fighters serving in the Ukrainian army — as well as a major Latvian farmer, a 61-year-old Georgian and even Russians — among them a former FSB officer. All recount their experience in this war of another century in terms of its violence and intensity. All speak both of the current situation and evoke the history of their country, of this war and of their relationship with Putin's Russia. All — Ukrainians and foreigners alike — are volunteers ready to die for Ukraine.

Their testimonies represent diverse wartime experiences lived by actors from varied sociological and psychological backgrounds, across all theatres of the war in its different phases, including the major battles of Irpin, Bucha and Mariupol. Gathered and presented by Lasha Otkhmezuri, who has earned the trust of the witnesses over several months, they offer both poignant accounts and a wealth of keys to understanding this war and its consequences.

A major upheaval for Europe, historical perspective, the question of war crimes — the author and his witnesses offer a series of unprecedented and illuminating information and reflections.
