The 40th Artillery Regiment has a rich history that begins at Saint-Mihiel at the dawn of the 20th century. Since then, the 40th has lived through the Great War and the Battle of France, risen from the ashes in the desert sand, and taken part in the Liberation. Stationed in Suippes, in the Marne since 1975, the regiment is today part of the 2nd Armoured Brigade, providing its fire support. The artillerymen of the 40th RA take part in the many operations in which the French Army is engaged around the world.

An album blending history, memory and tradition, inviting the reader to discover the story of the 40th and the men and women who shaped the regiment. This book gathers numerous previously unpublished photographs, images from the unit's archives, and photos taken by artillerymen throughout their missions. It also includes testimonies, maps and profiles of the iconic pieces that served with the 40th.
