THE BERLIET PCM, THE URBAN BUS PAR EXCELLENCE
A general-purpose manufacturer, Berliet left its mark on the coach and bus market. In the early 1960s, the Lyon-based manufacturer was a key player in the study of a new standard bus for the RATP, intended to replace all rolling stock then in service. Named the PCM R, it was selected by the Régie, which ordered 750 units. An innovative model in more ways than one, this bus was subsequently offered in a slightly revised version, the PCM U, to provincial urban transport networks, where it met with considerable success.
It is the complete history of these iconic vehicles and their derivatives that Philippe Perez recounts for the first time in detail in this book, which will delight enthusiasts and satisfy purists.
