Since its deployment in the Sahel in 2009, Task Force Sabre, the French special forces unit, had been the subject of no book whatsoever.

This work explains in detail how the hunt for Al-Qaeda and Daesh terrorists is conducted across this region of Africa the size of Europe. Weapons, tactics and units are described in full to illuminate the effectiveness of this special unit, which in 2017 neutralised over one hundred terrorists out of the 370 claimed by France.

This book also reveals the operational mechanics of a Task Force requiring commandos, helicopters, transport and assault aircraft, as well as sometimes unsuspected support elements. Finally, it conveys the risks faced by French commandos, five of whom have lost their lives since 2013.
