This detailed study of the Foreign Legion in Indochina presents an unprecedented and exhaustive collection of uniforms and dress worn by the Foreign Legion in Indochina from 1946 to 1956. More than 400 collector's items and approximately 200 photographs from the Indochina War bring to life this campaign — the deadliest in the Foreign Legion's history, yet also one of its most glorious — through which successive generations of legionnaires served. This work is dedicated to the 11,600 legionnaires who fell in Indochina under the uniform of the Corps Expéditionnaire Français d'Extrême-Orient and to the thousands of Indochinese auxiliary troops who died for France under the colours of the Foreign Legion. It also pays tribute to the former legionnaires who bear witness to a bygone era.
