From the invasion in January to the abdication in April 1814, tracing the victories and final defeats of Napoleon, this book presents in text and image a French army bringing together the youngest conscripts, veterans of 100 campaigns alongside peasants and workers of the National Guards. An epic still too often forgotten.

The composition of the army is detailed point by point, and the weight of each army corps in this decisive campaign is also examined. It remains to rediscover these famous battles through their participants — the anonymous heroes of Champaubert, Montmirail, Craon, Reims, Paris…

This work gives pride of place to period illustrations, uniform plates and the appendices essential to understanding the campaign: maps, diagrams and orders of battle.
