The history of the French Battalion of the UN during the terrible Korean War was until now very poorly known. After twenty years of research by the author, his quest for testimonies from direct witnesses — many of whom have since passed away — allowed him to gather the personal recollections of former officers, non-commissioned officers, corporals and other ranks, recollections that are sometimes painful and always filled with emotion.

This historical account, a true campaign journal, also draws on the archives of Vincennes and Pau. This book presents material that is largely unpublished on one of the epics of the French army, venerated in Korea for the sacrifices made.

It is accompanied by fifteen maps and 900 photographs, largely drawn from the combatants' personal archives.
