This 4th volume of the Guides Militaria presents, in chronological order, the evolution of uniforms, equipment, and weaponry of the American soldier during the early years of the conflict, from 1962 to 1967 (the period 1968 to 1975 is covered in a second volume). All uniforms and equipment are period-original; only a few replica weapons were used. In order to present characteristic silhouettes at given moments during the campaign, extensive research was carried out to ensure consistency between units, dates, and geographical situations. Deliberately, and unlike other works, not all the figures depicted are combatants, in order to reflect accurately the typology of the US soldier. It should be recalled that 85% of personnel were advisors and support troops.
