Walks Through Medieval France takes the reader on a journey of discovery through the great medieval sites across France, offering major thematic tours: villages and châteaux of the Périgord, the Norman abbeys, the cathedrals of Picardy, towns and churches of Champagne, the châteaux of Alsace, etc. More than 70 sites are listed. This discovery is richly illustrated by numerous photographs by Hervé Champollion. Mathieu Lours holds an agrégation and a doctorate in history. A specialist in religious architecture and cathedrals in particular, he has devoted numerous works to the study of these great stone vessels, from the highly erudite Autre temps des cathédrales to the Dictionnaire des cathédrales, the only work aimed at the general public bringing together all the cathedrals of France. His passion for heritage also leads him to explore other places and themes, such as the squares of Paris. Hervé Champollion, a photographer passionate about geography and history, has produced numerous albums devoted to countries and regions alike, as well as to heritage — in particular medieval abbeys, Gothic cathedrals and Romanesque France. He has carried out numerous photographic reportages for Editions Ouest-France.
