Anecdotes and intimate accounts enrich our understanding of a war whose memory remains very much alive, even a hundred years on.

Jean-Yves Meslé is passionate about local history. He co-wrote with Marc Pottier Les Maisons suédoises de la reconstruction en Normandie (Les Cahiers du Temps, 2008), SMN, mémoires et mutations d'un site industriel (OREP, 2013), and the panels for the exhibition De l'Occupation à la Libération, mémoires du Pays de Falaise (Communauté de communes du Pays de Falaise, 2014). Marc Pottier, author of works on migration issues, the Second World War, and industrial heritage, was director of education and scientific research at the Mémorial de Caen.
He is deputy director of the Fabrique de patrimoines en Normandie. A historical advisor to numerous media outlets, he is also mayor of the town of Colombelles and vice-president for culture of the urban community of Caen la mer. Sophie Pottier, holding a dual qualification in documentation and history, has been head archivist at the Fabrique de patrimoines en Normandie (formerly CRéCET) for fifteen years.
She has a passion for researching and discovering unpublished archival and iconographic material.
