This elegant shirt style was worn through to the 1940s. Men's fashion had favoured straight-collared shirts since the mid-19th century. A detachable collar, known as a "paracite" collar, could be buttoned onto it. This type of shirt was very popular until it was gradually replaced by turn-down collar shirts in the 1940s.

It features a "MAO" collar, as straight-collar shirts were fashionable in the early decades of the last century, during the 1920s and 1930s.

For evenings and formal occasions, it was possible to add a starched detachable collar. It therefore features a button at the back of the collar for this purpose. The high collar is available on the website.

With its band collar and its elegance, the style of this shirt is reminiscent of the Peaky Blinders

This type of shirt was gradually replaced by turn-down collar shirts during the 1940s.
