MONTGISARD - The Templars in the Holy Land at the Time of the Leper King
Medieval skirmish game for 2 or more players.
MONTGISARD is the name of the battle won by Baldwin IV, the Leper King of Jerusalem in 1177 against Saladin's Egyptian army. This game is an expansion for AGER SANGUINIS and introduces new Templar counters as well as famous figures such as Raynald of Châtillon, Balian of Ibelin and the Leper King himself.
The 15 tactical scenarios cover the period between the battles of Montgisard (1177) and Hattin (1187). The double map of the Krak des Chevaliers, with its vaulted ramp, allows for exceptional siege scenarios. Morale rules have been added to simulate battles with very uneven numbers on each side, as was common at the time.
The tactical game features 4 combinable maps and over 160 unique characters: they are available in 4 health states: in full health, wounded, knocked out or ... dead!
2 maps representing Judea and Galilee, along with 50 counters, allow simulation of campaigns where skirmishes are resolved using the tactical game.
