Following the tremendous interest sparked by his first book, Le Tommy de la Libération, Jean Bouchery decided in 2003 to pay tribute to his North American cousin: the Canadian soldier. With the publication in 2012 of Les Alliés sous l'uniforme anglais, a technical trilogy dedicated to the 21st Army Group, from Normandy to the Baltic, was thus completed — its generic title reflecting precisely that scope.

The ambition of this new revised and expanded edition is to provide basic reference material for military history enthusiasts hungry for detailed information, as well as collectors of historical memorabilia and vehicles, scale modellers, and re-enactment groups, who will find here the elements needed to refine their portrayals. The author Jean Bouchery is a retired automotive industry professional. Of Norman origin, he began collecting field artefacts at a very young age. A specialist in the British Army, he is the author of numerous documentary articles in Militaria Magazine, of which he is one of the founders, as well as reference works including Le Tommy de la Libération and Les Alliés sous l'uniforme anglais.
