In the wake of the 70th anniversary celebrations of the transformation of the "13" into a parachute regiment, and ahead of the 60th anniversary of its entry into airborne reconnaissance, the new expanded and updated edition of the work by Mark Bruschi "13e RDP, combats en Algérie de la Kabylie au Constantinois", published in 2010 and out of print for several years, was a natural necessity — a bridge between the parachute dragoons of yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

Drawing on years of additional research, this revised edition features a new layout incorporating several dozen previously unpublished photographs (most in colour) and a text enriched with new testimonies from veterans. It was produced with the support of the Amicale du 13e RDP and the assistance of General Lebel, then president of the association, and of the regiment, which continues to carry high the colours of the Empress's dragoons within the Special Forces.
