Virtually every item of uniform is presented in the finest detail, including the various models of jump smock (Knochensack), and the equipment used by the Luftwaffe from the mid-1930s to the capitulation of the Reich. The reader will also find the insignia specific to the Fallschirmjäger and numerous previously unpublished accounts. In brief, this work describes in depth the operations of the "Green Devils", from the attack on Norway to the final days of the Third Reich, including the assault on the Belgian fortress of Eben-Emael. The campaigns in Holland, Crete, and also North Africa, Russia, Italy, Normandy and the Ardennes are covered in this trilogy. With the assistance of collectors and museums from around the world, the author and the German publisher undertook an unprecedented collaboration. The three volumes total more than 1,000 pages in colour with thousands of photographs of Fallschirmjäger collection items, among them pieces never previously revealed or studied. This exceptional triptych is enriched with numerous period photographs, many of which have never been published before.
