With the capitulation of Germany, 75 years ago, in May 1945, eleven million German soldiers found themselves prisoners. Among them, 700,000 were interned in France, sometimes under very harsh conditions. They would help to rebuild France.

This is the beginning of another story, which, according to some historians, laid the foundations for European integration around the Franco-German axis.
