Through 75 objects drawn from Bertrand Paris's remarkable Normandy collection, we have attempted to restore to D-Day and the Battle of Normandy the faces and the objects of those who took part in it.

Some serve to illustrate a date or an event; others, particularly moving, bring back to life a face, a sacrifice, a body laid forever in the Norman soil. They remind us that the blood shed on the sands of Omaha, Utah, Sword, Gold and Juno was given for a noble and ardent cause that transcended even those who offered their lives for it: Liberty.
