As one of the few four-engined aircraft of the Luftwaffe, it initially served as a maritime bomber, earning the nickname 'Scourge of the Atlantic'. And although it was a very fragile aircraft produced in small numbers, it would for a time shake the British Empire to its foundations. This volume covers the full evolution of this somewhat legendary aircraft, from its early and rapid successes to its gradual decline. Over 660 photographs, 320 pages, 28 colour profiles by Thierry Dekker, plans and a cutaway drawing.
