On the evening of the Battle of Ligny, Napoleon marches toward Waterloo. Victorious over the Prussians, the Emperor joins Marshal Ney, who had failed to defeat the British, Belgian and Dutch allies at the Battle of Quatre-Bras. The Emperor had left Marshal Grouchy to pursue what he believed to be a Prussian army in rout. While the cannon thundered at Waterloo, Grouchy's army corps engaged the Prussians at the Battle of Wavre. Did Grouchy commit an error by not marching to the sound of the guns toward Waterloo?
