Despite all personal preferences, the classic bucket hat has a tradition of over a century. The first headwear of this type appeared on the market more than 100 years ago. Designed to protect the wearer from sun, wind and rain, they quickly became standard equipment for outdoor activities and work.

From the 1940s onwards, bucket hats became part of the jungle equipment of armies worldwide. From the 1960s, boonie hats became the hallmark of G.I.s in South-East Asia and, later, of the pacifist movement.

This boonie hat has the classic shape as it was worn in the 1960s. It therefore features a medium brim and a slightly flatter crown.
