The HBT Tarawa trousers are directly inspired by the legendary P41 fatigue trousers worn by USMC (US Marine Corps) soldiers during World War II. They were worn from Camp Pendleton (California, north of San Diego) all the way to the beaches of the Pacific.

Their overall appearance is that of early 1940s work trousers. The HBT (Herringbone Twill) fabric developed for the military gives them a highly durable character. It also has the distinctive property of drying very quickly — an important quality for Marines.

It comes as no surprise that these trousers have become iconic.
