The Piron Brigade took an active part in the liberation of Normandy. In this period commemorating the 80th anniversary of the liberation, Heimdal presents a very thorough analysis of the operations of the famous Belgian brigade during the Normandy campaign.

This volume analyses the tactical workings of the unit and its adaptation to modern warfare during the final phase of the battle in the Norman bocage. The ambushes laid by a German army ever more skilled, fighting with its back to the Seine to survive, would cast a shadow over the Belgians' magnificent victory.
