The book contains 486 illustrations including 167 period photographs from the front or drawn from technical manuals, 208 colour photographs of restored vehicles with detail photoscopes, 21 colour photographs of models, 21 camouflage schemes and 69 scale drawings.

Regarding volumes 19, 22, 26 and 43, one important vehicle was missing: the Sd.Kfz. 166 15cm SIG33 on Panzer IV "Brummbär". During the defensive battles on the Eastern Front, the need for a successor vehicle on a Kampfwagen IV chassis became apparent.
