Berliet is certainly the most iconic and most representative marque in the world of French trucks, by virtue of its longevity — its first truck was built in 1907 —, the breadth of its ranges and the variety of vehicle types manufactured.

Berliet has always been extremely prolific in producing advertising materials, with at least one document published per current model. These advertisements, which include basic technical specifications, are of great interest to both the enthusiast and the collector. For any given period, they make it possible to reconstruct the entire range and to place the models in their proper context.

This book brings together a selection of printed documents from 1956 to 1958, some of which are now difficult to find. They cover the "R" models — that is, the last chassis to be fitted with Ricardo injection engines, before the arrival of the Magic direct-injection engines.
