The PK — the German propaganda companies — were the communications instrument of the Third Reich. These Wehrmacht and Waffen-SS servicemen served as the eyes and ears of the Nazi Propaganda Ministry, covering both victories and defeats. While their photographs and films are well known, nothing has been said about the men behind the cameras and still-photography equipment, nor about all the technicians involved. This volume presents the creation of this psychological weapon from an organisational, technical and human perspective. The Wehrmacht propaganda companies are examined through rich and previously unpublished documentation, with a particular focus on 6 Luftwaffe PK units. Finally, through the testimonies of reporters, the campaigns in Poland, Norway, France and the opening of the Russian campaign are brought to life. Hardcover - 168 pages
