 The life of a sailor has always been hard. Their clothing, too, had to adapt to the most demanding weather. Over the years, specific shapes and materials became established in the navy. The 1943 CPO Shirt is one of those garments that emerged in the U.S. Navy.

Originally developed in the 1930s, the cut and fabric have changed very little over the decades. Good freedom of movement and two large chest pockets are the hallmarks of our 1943 CPO Shirt. Originally, CPO shirts were made from a thick wool fabric. Over the decades, a wide variety of materials has been used. Halifax flannel is a tightly woven flannel and, like all flannels, it is brushed on the inside.
