The "Beo Gam" camouflage is inspired by duck-hunter clothing from the 1940s. It appeared in the early 1960s during the Vietnam War. It was designed for special forces operating in Southeast Asia. 

The camouflage is created by combining different shapes in varying shades of brown and green on a beige background. This camouflage pattern is primarily used in the Mekong Delta, whereas the Tiger Stripe is more commonly found further north in the dense forests.

It is called "Beo Gam", which means "Leopard" in Vietnamese.
