It was in 1944 that the N1 Deck Jacket appeared. Navy crews based in Europe needed a warm jacket to move safely across the decks and gangways of their ships. The U.S. Department of Defense had a jacket made fairly similar to the one already worn by US Army troops, but in blue. The N1 Deck Jacket features a canvas collar, a wool cloth lining and a zip fastening.

In a second version, the N1 was issued in khaki-coloured cloth, with an alpaca lining and collar. The zip closure is then protected by a flap secured by a row of buttons or metal hooks.

This N1 Deck Jacket, like the original, is made from a tightly woven outer fabric — the "Jungle Cloth" — combined with a woven wool lining. The result is a jacket resistant to water and wind, protecting the wearer from the harshest weather conditions. 
The waxed version of the N1 Deck Jacket features three layers of wax, making it almost 100% waterproof. Over time, it develops a beautiful patina and a very pleasant hand feel.

Like its legendary original, this 1944 N1 Deck Jacket has the following features:
- outer fabric made of tightly woven double-faced waxed "Jungle Cloth", waxed three times. 100% cotton
- woven wool lining (100% wool)
- vintage Talon zip closure
- authentic label
- knitted cuffs inside the sleeves
