At the gates of the city of Orléans, air base 123 « Commandant Charles-Paoli » has been part of the Petite Beauce landscape for nearly a hundred years. As a historic site of French military air transport, it is today a major platform of the French Air Force, whose missions span the highly technological world of communications and the fascinating realm of commandos and special forces.

Upholding the crew spirit, the two thousand six hundred men and women serving on this base share a common passion for aeronautics in the service of their country's defence. After the legendary era of the Noratlas and the Transall, then the Hercules, they are today the standard-bearer of the famous A400M, around which this new edition shines its full spotlight. For at air base 123, action is always focused on mission success and gives wings to these adopted Orléanais, faithful to their Loire Valley homeland.
