BD Dreaming Eagles
In the 1960s, as the civil rights movement shocks America, World War II veteran Reggie Atkinson watches his teenage son Lee get drawn into the dangerous struggle for racial equality — and fears for him.
Twenty years earlier, in an unlikely place called Tuskegee, Alabama, officer candidate Atkinson and his fellow trainees report for pilot training.
The graduates will be the first African-American combat pilots to serve in the United States Army Air Forces — an experience poorly received in much of their home country and contested by many members of their government.
In the war-torn skies over Adolf Hitler's Fortress Europe, they will forge a legend that endures to this day, long after their detractors are gone. Some will pay the ultimate price, miles above the earth; others, expecting to come home as heroes, will receive a devastating welcome.
