The "Bruneval Raid" was a pioneering operation. While Great Britain had just escaped the threat of invasion, it struck back on the Continent through a combined operation that brought back invaluable intelligence on German radar installations. Neutralising the information provided by these radars would prove decisive for the element of surprise on D-Day, a few years later.
