At the turn of the century, work shirts reflected the transition from traditional craftsmanship to the early stages of industrialisation. Shirts had to be robust, comfortable and easy to maintain — requirements that shaped the choice of materials and the cut. The 1908 Hazienda Shirt comes directly from that era.

It features a partial button placket, a comfortable fit, a small officer collar and a small chest pocket designed for a pocket watch. As was customary, an additional buttonhole is present on the placket to properly secure the watch chain. The fabric is sturdy and made from 100% cotton.

This highly elegant shirt model was worn from the 1920s through to the 1940s. Menswear had favoured straight-collar shirts since the mid-19th century. An additional collar, known as a "parachute" or detachable collar, could be buttoned onto it. This style of shirt was very popular until it was gradually replaced by fold-down collar shirts in the 1940s.
