Over the years, specific cuts and materials became standard in the Navy. The 1943 CPO Shirt is one of those garments that emerged from the U.S. Navy. The cut and fabric, developed in the 1930s, have only been slightly modified over the years.

It features two large chest pockets and offers great freedom of movement. It was originally made from thick wool. For this version, Pike Brothers chose a flannel fabric.
