It was in 1944 that the N1 Deck Jacket appeared. Navy crews based in Europe needed a warm jacket to move freely on the decks and companionways of their ships. The US Department of Defense had a jacket made fairly similar to the one already issued to US Army troops, but in blue. The N1 Deck Jacket features a canvas collar, a wool cloth lining, and a zip fastening.

This N1 Deck Jacket waxed is made from a tightly woven and waxed outer fabric, the "Jungle Cloth", combined with a woven wool lining. The result is a jacket that is both water- and wind-resistant, protecting the wearer in the most severe weather conditions.
This waxed version of the N1 features 3 layers of wax, making it 100% waterproof. Over time, it develops a beautiful patina and an even more pleasant feel. The zip fastener is protected by a storm flap secured by a row of buttons or metal hooks.
The 1944 N1-Deck Jacket Waxed has the following features:
