This model is based on a woodworker's trousers dating from the mid-1930s. Hence the name: Chopping down the tree. At that time, jeans were still meant to be worn as outerwear, and cuts were therefore rather loose, which is also the case with our 1936 Chopper Pant. The Alcatraz White fabric is a Prison Stripe. Prison stripes appeared around 1850 and were designed to allow escaping prisoners to be quickly identified.
