The 1923 Buccanoy Shirt is a must for formal occasions. It features a "Mandarin" collar, as straight-collar shirts were fashionable in the early twentieth century during the 1920s and 1930s. For evenings and special occasions, it was possible to add a starched detachable collar.

It therefore has a button at the back of the collar for this purpose. The high collar is available on the website. With its detachable collar and elegance, the style of this shirt is not unlike that of the Peaky Blinders. This type of shirt would gradually be replaced by turndown-collar shirts in the 1940s.
