1941 Tanker Jacket — U.S. Army Tanker Jacket

Introduced in 1941 under the official designation "Jacket, Combat, Winter", the tanker jacket was originally intended for tank crews and vehicle drivers of the U.S. Army. Designed to withstand the harshest winter conditions, it quickly established itself on every front thanks to its warmth, comfort and great practicality.

More functional and more comfortable than the regulation jackets of the early 1940s, this jacket quickly became popular with all soldiers, including officers. After the Second World War, its iconic design was adopted in civilian wardrobes, making the Tanker Jacket a timeless piece highly sought after by collectors today.

For this 1941 Tanker Jacket, Pike Brothers based the design on a custom-made version produced for an officer, incorporating functional improvements such as an additional interior pocket. This faithful replica of the first model is distinguished by its front patch pockets and the absence of a back pleat.

Fitted with a particularly thick wool lining, this jacket is ideal for winter, whether in the city or at historical re-enactments. This is notably the model worn by Brad Pitt in the film Fury.
