Romain Béthoux served as deputy leader and then leader of the Patrouille de France (PAF) from 2014 to 2015. This was the culmination of years of effort and hard work: first gaining entry to the École de l'Air, then earning his fighter wings, and finally completing a first career on the Mirage F1, which included several combat missions during various overseas operations. His selection to join the prestigious aerobatic team then opened the doors to an unimagined adventure, which he recounts at length in these pages.
